When ?

Any crop with a compact way of growing can be fit to be grown on a MGS. Lettuce is a well known example. All lettuce types can be grown on a MGS being it butterhead lettuce, oakleaf lettuce, lollo rossa and bionda, or any other type. But also herbs make a fine crop to be grown on a MGS. Whether it is basil, cilantro, chives, parsley, dill, fennel, thyme, sage, oregano, French tarragon, rosemary, mint or another herb : they al grow well on a MGS.

For all lettuce, with the exception of lettuce that is to be harvested at low weight, a 100 mm wide gully is the best option. For herbs and lettuce that is to be harvested at low weight, Hortiplan designed a 70 mm wide gully, which allows higher densities at the beginning of the growing process.

Depending on the aimed at end weight of the crop, Hortiplan designs each MGS specifically, thus guaranteeing the highest possible plant density at all stages of growing.

Of course, a crop needs to receive a suiting nutrient solution. Hortiplan can provide the equipment for fertigation. After each watering, water is redosed with nutrients and disinfected.
